故事讲述了在一个科技发达的星际旅航时代，各星球上稀有的虫子成为了价值连城的猎物，而主角则是专门捕获这些珍贵虫子的猎人。主角穿梭在各个星球间，就为了捕捉一只稀世罕见的虫子，但是显然一切并不顺利。运气真是不能左右的一种东西，即使主角运用高端的科技产品，也抵不过那虫子的万般好运，而且还有另一个猎虫人在不断的阻碍。故事中，主角越挫越勇，越勇……也就越挫，最后连强壮巨大的外星怪兽也成为了他的宿敌。但即使是这样，主角也还在依然执着于那个虫子，那个让主角可以扬名例外，一夜暴富的虫子。
